And I finally caught Spiderman
But no, I'm not going to talk about Peter Parker or Spiderman the movie. Well, not really anyway. Today I am going to talk about Aunt May.
I think they cast the perfect person to play her. I used to watch the old 90s Spiderman cartoons and just think how similar they are. Besides the fact that in the cartoon, Aunt May didn't really like Spiderman nor is she as strong-willed as she is potrayed in the movie. But moving on... I would love to have an aunt like her. Her advises are always valid, solid, logical, real and good. She is definitely the place to go to if you have problems or just want someone to listen.
In Spiderman 3, where Peter Parker goes nuts (whats with the jazz ???), MJ goes on a jealous rage and Harry going all sweet... Aunt May stays the same. The same old caring aunt of Peter Parker. Having her in the movie brings about calmness and serenity. Can I say that she is almost my favourite character?

Meet Ace, he's my part time cat. I call him Ace-su at times.
Yes yes, I know its been forever. Many animes have come and go. It became from rain to hot back to rain season again here. So many things to complain! So little time! Just a few highlights:
- i almost bought Wii (Local US import, how can it be local if its US?!) but i didnt because the price is over what I had xpected.
- my computer broke down god knows how many times (malware, reformat, shorted PSU, DVD-RW and now router).
- finally bought a new hp! I miss my old Ngage... but the battery's bloated and the charger's dead. instead of spending quite a few bucks on that, i got an N73. been wanting one. and its red too.
- my mp4 no longer plays newly converted avi files!
- creative zen stone looks nice in pictures but just odd in real life. it would have been a plus if it has radio.
- Utada United 2006 DVD is finally here!!! and its at a betetr price than expected though still high! can't wait to get one~
unique but rather plain. theres no cover. thats the actual disc you see. for that price, you expected more i guess, but it definitely is different. :)
- i wanted Segolene Royal to win the French elections. :( i believed in a united france.
- believe it or not, i dont think i will ever get bored with Utada-san's music.
- i can't wait to learn Japanese. domo~
- maybe i should go greece in 2008 but i spent too much this year. :(
- PC show coming, time to spend again! omg.
- i watched the singapore badminton open's final LIVE! it was great, i'll be back next year.
One can never be prepared for what's going to hit you. So many things happened this year. Spent so much just to solve it. I can't believe the amount. If it had happened only a little before a year, I would never have the opportunity to have things my way, improve, help and realize, how important things are, or people/animal.
Life has a changed a lot for me. Accepting one's self is really important. That's the biggest step I took and it was one of the main thing that helped me. I'm different from who I used to be. Its good, I like it. Be who you are. You'll gain confidence that way,

This bring backs memories.
THE song that introduced me to the great UTADA HIKARU! First Love, live on her latest tour (Utada United). I hope the DVD will get imported into here, I'm so getting it...
Maybe I'll post a vid of her singing this when she was 15, I think her voice control is a lot better now. She can manipulate it well. I like it.
Just for a short while, at work now. Added some stuff to my template. Think I've been slacking too much, my boss doesn't look too happy. *gulp*
Had been wanting to type this out but just wasn't free to blog. (*list may change time to time)
5 pet peeves working with male colleagues:
5) I'm not interested to hear about women's cleavages and where you can see 'em (a.k.a curse of the Golden Flower).
4) Not keen on hearing you telling me stories about some guy friend you have that cheated and how envious you are. Get a life! You don't know how she feels.
3) Seems like anything can remind them of the opposite sex, and it isn't pleasant (or should I say clean?)
2) Please reduce the amount of LOUD burping, we all know you're full and had a nice meal. And Oh! Please don't dig your gold (nose) in front of us.
1) Absolutely NO scratching around the crotch area!!! Eeeww!
What's yours?

I'm back people!
A thought just occured to me, since I'm a big fan of Animes, why not just write a bit about what I'm currently watching? So here it goes:
At no.1 spot is... Kanon (2006)! In the beginning I didn't quite like it as it seems like your typical harem anime (a bunch of girls revolving around ONE guy) - which is not really my type. Unless if its funny or good or something... I think I've never watch that kind before, hmmm. But the guy reminded me a lot of Kyon from Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (must watch!) so I continued, and didn't regret my decision. Kanon is based of a game of the same named and its a music title by Beethoven (I think?). And this version is actually a remake. I read good reviews about it. Its a story filled with humour, emotions and drama.
Yuichi Aizawa is our main male lead that came back to do his high school studies at an old town he used to visit when he was young. While he was there, he stayed at his Aunt and Cousin's house. But as his summer vacation was over, he had to leave the town. He was away for 7 long years, and forgetting whatever that had happened to him while he was there. Apparently, something happened. What is it, I've no idea. Because, mind you, the series isn't over yet. On the day after he gets settled in, he meets a girl carrying a backpack with wings on it. Her name is Tsukimiya Ayu and he begins to recall the memories he had lost. And the girls that he had met, seven years ago. The stories of the girls unfold one-by-one. And each is filled with full emotions, though it may be of 'magical theme' but its underlying story and meanings is as good as if it was real. Its not your typical romance storyline, and no typical "every female character fell in love with the male lead". The episodes went by at a good pace. I really enjoyed it and this is one of the few dramas/stories that made me cry. So many emotions ran through me, watching up till the 14th episode. Sad, happy, anger, laughter, shocked...
Le Chevalier D'Eon
Summary taken off ANN: "During the time when Louis XV still ruled France, a certain woman was found dead in the coffin floating through the Seine river. D'Eon, the woman's brother, determines to seach for the killer of his sister, Lia. But there are some strange movements in France. And things become more strange when Lia's soul enters D'Eon's body..."
I quite like it in the beginning, it has a Da Vinci feel to it. Half of its characters are based-off real people. And some events are historically real but altered to fit in the supernatural elements in it. Though somehow... a part of the supernatural element kinda let me down. Due to that addition, it seems all fiction to me. At least, prior to that it seemed like it may happen. I'm only halfway through the series, still liking it though. The enviroment animation is good but I'll have to disagree on some parts of the characters drawing. It looks a bit off somehow, sometimes. This is what I like about anime, it can happen on any stage. And I like it when they based it off western historical happenings (another good one is Monster, based in Germany with plots surrounding WW2 experimentation on children).
Negima
Again, summary of ANN : "10-year old Negi Springfield is a wizard-in-training, and needs only to pass one more test in order to become a Master Wizard. Unfortunately, his final task is a bizarre one- to become a English teacher at an all-females boarding school. As soon as he arrives, he completely embarasses one of his students, Asuna Kagurazaka, and replaces the teacher she loves, which garners her hatred. To make matters worse, Asuna learns that Negi is a wizard, and promises to tell unless he helps her out. But, unfortunately, circumstances force them to work together to do many things, from fighting evil wizards to helping the class pass their final exam, with a lot of humor, magic, and romances thrown in."
I'm watching it because of its side-characters storyline. Which sometimes just seems a lot better than whats really happening. Some of it does entertwine with the main story. I guess I'm not really sure what made me enjoy this anime. Though I do feel good when watching it, but I just don't feel as passionate as I do about other animes. It can be funny and I kinda like the animation, very colourful. Nothing much to say about this... Apparently, this is also a remake, but a lot better comparing to the other one. (yeah, I tried and I only watched the first episode).
D.Gray Man
I wonder about the title too. ANN says "Allen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the suffering of the Akumas created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of 19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to them by God on their side."
This is like your typical shounen anime, with just a different storyline. Sad and sorry to say, I feel nothing special about this anime. But its still fun to watch. Hmm how should I compare this? Its like watching the original power rangers series and the new power rangers "of god knows how many versions there are already". (not that I'm still watching ... serious!)

WHAT ?!
How could Joanie NOT have won America's Next Top Model cycle 6?! Yes, Danielle has more presense and charisma but Joanie takes better pictures! Their walk are just Ok I think. However, I like and support both. I'm happy enough that Jade's out. I almost thought Danielle couldn't make it. Wooo! I was screaming joyously when Jade got the boot.
Eventhough the runway looks awesome and nice and chic but the designs doesn't go with it. Its more Pocahontas meet Bohemian. (Don't get me wrong, I love the collection). I still think ANTM4's final runway is the best, having to walk 'on water', splashing everything to catch their attention and to not fall off.
Now, why had I wanted Joanie to win? Well, going into Cycle 6, I had no favourites, I wasn't really rooting for anyone. Yes I do like some people, but not enough to make me support them. Until the Thailand episode. Seeing how Joanie was trying her very best to respect the Thai culture just blow me away. Its rare to find such people nowadays. She felt guilty for showing so much skin in a photoshoot filled with Thais and she was trying her very best to do the Thai dance as well.
But don't you think the finale is not as climatic as the previous cycles? Its kinda stale.
I'm officially a fan of Kahlen and Joanie now. ANTM7, here I come! I accidentally caught the re-run of Manhunt on TV once, it was so... bleah. No expression, no emotions, no DRAMA, no HUMOUR! It was freaking boring, it definitely was no America's Next Top Model. (Come on Queer Eye, you're funnier, when you coming to Ch5???)
I was looking through at the different anime titles and god, some are just plain tounge twisters. Look at these (I don't even know whats it about, just randomly pick):
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto
La Corda D'oro Primo Passo
Sumomomo Momomo - Chijou Saikyou no Yome
Sanchome no Tama: Uchi no Tama Shirimasenka?
TRY SAYING THAT FAST, 10 TIMES!

So long, its been so long, so this is the update!
I can't stop thinking about Nintendo Wii. Oh my god, its affecting me terribly. Hahahaha. I mean, I know that I do not want to get the first generations (meaning the one date comes out during launch date) but its oh-so-tempting. Its a great way to exercise too. Especially if you don't have anybody to exercise with.
Anyway, in July its already pre-planned for me to have a trip to Melbourne and Sydney. But I do feel like spending the whole 10 days at Melbourne lazing around... I like it that much, yes. :p Argh, Menot, come online! I need to confirm date!!! (maybe I should take 2 cycle of leave that would mean ... 20 days!)
So, since I have an additional 4-5 days of leave to clear (before its wasted as I'm already bringing the max. 15 days over), I'm thinking of dropping by at Perth in February, ONLY if I can get cheap air fare of course. But it doesnt seem like it. The cheapest currently is $398, w/ tax is $705. I shall see...
However, if I do go, I need to cut off few things from my pre-planned spending budget. Maybe I won't get that new Creative Zen V plus or that Nintendo Wii or N73. No, wait, I need that N73. Well, actually Nintendo Wii doesn't count because it wasn't IN my budget the first place! I didn't expect to fall madly in love with it! Graphics card is a must, mine's going kaput. And just because I have a new and more powerful (well mid-range actually) gfx card, I just got to get a new game, don't I? Medieval 2:Total War. It covers my favourite time line (not too much of gunpowder I hope). And with that, maybe a 1GB ram to compliment it. I'm seeing $300 simply going away with that... And I actually wanted to go to KL to shop! God... please help this soul to control her spending spree as much as possible.
Guess, I won't go to KL. Try to only spend $200 each month. Hah! Impossible. Transport is already $80. Bills' another $100... well I'm going to change to a cheaper plan hopefully soon. Then some money to mum... $200 is IMPOSSIBLE. Nvm. I will find a way. :D Maybe I'll get to do overtime soon...
Oh and I'm planning to sell away my XBox with 13 ORIGINAL games to, maybe, supplement my Nintendo Wii cravings... Besides, its still in GOOD conditions and I RARELY play it, might as well sell it away, right?
